Birthday Thanksgiving

It is a few days to my birthday and I have been thinking of the blessings received in the last one year. Haven’t we been told to count our blessings one by one?

I am grateful for life. Have you tried putting an alarm clock beside a dead body?

I am grateful for family. We are all complete.

I am grateful for a sane mind; those insane did not wish for their situation.

I am grateful for my career. I may not be where I want to be but I am definitely not where I used to be.

I am grateful for my fashion business and my blog. He gave the gifts and talents; I am only a channel.

I am grateful because I asked of the Lord and He heard my prayers.

All my prayers have not been answered but I would be ungrateful not to say thank you for those that have been answered.

As I step into another year of my life in a few days, I see a brighter future ahead.

I see my status changing.

I see better days ahead.

I see a glory greater than the former.

I am indebted to this great God.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This is the last post of the year 2017 and I would like to appreciate every one who has taken out time to follow, read or comment on this blog. You have all made my stay here worthwhile.

I’m so far from perfect but I am definitely not here by mistake. I am a product of GRACE. (If you love Kirk Franklin like me, you would recognize this line 😉 )

Today is Christmas and I would like to say, please remember the reason for the season – JESUS.

I leave with this track which I love so much as the lyrics are powerful. Enjoy and be blessed!

Merry Christmas!!! 🎄🎄

Many reasons to be thankful!

This is the last post for the year 2016 and I have every reason to be grateful.

  3. I am grateful for my family; immediate and extended.
  4. I am grateful for my friends, colleagues and acquaintances; especially my course mates I hooked up with after 18 years.

  6. I am grateful for my job.
  7. I am grateful for my business, NDJs and how far God has taken it.
  8. I am grateful for my clients, without which my business does not exist.
  9. I am grateful for my talents yet untapped and business ideas still being cooked in my head.
  10. I am grateful for Olubukola’s Thoughts; and I am grateful for the eyes reading this.

A thankful heart

We are in the month of December; was it not just January yesterday?

It is time to take stock of everything that has happened in your life in the year 2016.

Regardless of whether good or bad, this should be a month of thanksgiving.

My pastor would say “If you have lost anything, God is the reason why you haven’t lost everything”. Some weeks ago, the true story of the man who wrote the very popular song – It is well with my soul, was making rounds on social media. Even though, he had lost so much, he still did one thing – He praised God.

Let us all count our blessings and name them one by one. If you are reading this, then you have a reason to be thankful – for life, for eyes that see, for a mind that can comprehend.

I leave with these tracks below. Enjoy and be blessed!

A grateful night!

It was almost 7.00p.m. She sauntered lazily into the house. It had been a long day in the market walking around and haggling. As her kids ran to give her a hug, she scooped them up in her arms. “Mummy, what did you buy for us?” They chorused.

She smiled. “Let me go in and change first.” She told them.

They followed her in refusing to let her out of their sight.

She opened the connecting door and instantly knew something was amiss. She took a step back and bumped into her kids. She immediately pulled them away closing the connecting door behind her. She called on her maid; ordering her and the kids out of the house.

After their exit, she reopened the connecting door. The air was thick with soot. As she opened the door to her room, she balked. The curtains were on fire. Her bed lay undisturbed just like she had left it in the morning. She knew it was only a matter of minutes before it would also go up in flames.

She looked at the air conditioner on the wall by the burning curtains. The bedside fridge just below the curtains; the various bottles of perfume sitting on the credenza under the air conditioner. A disaster waiting to happen. She looked around and became confused. Should I get water? Should I mix detergent with water? Her mind became a chaotic jumble of thoughts.

Just as she was contemplating on what to do, the maiguard noticed the flames from outside her window. He ran to the landlady’s quarters to retrieve a fire extinguisher. Moments later, the fire was put out.

She looked up to the heavens and said a little prayer. Thank God, she had decided against staying back to gist with her friend after their trip to the market. Thank God, she had arrived home just in time. Thank God, her kids had not decided to go into her bedroom. She had every reason to be grateful.
